Scenic Santa Barbara

February 2010 Santa Barbara Sourcing trip.

Our sourcing trip to San Francisco last year went so well that we attempted to duplicate it this year in Santa Barbara. No such luck. We talked to several different vendors, but you can’t win them all.  We couldn't find any bargains to sell on Johnny-Sells.com  We had to settle for the spectacular scenery, friendly people and warm climate of Santa Barbara.

Here are some photos memorable parts of our trip.

The beautiful foothills above Santa Barbara

Wild turkeys blocked the road in the state park

Cold Creek Tavern's antique store

Santa Barbara Mission – She’s not really stealing money from the fountain, she’s just being wacky.

I like birds and birds like me.

Luxury home destroyed in the Jesuitica forest fire fall, 2009.  It's beautiful, but scary.  A lady who lived in a 2.9 million dollar house in the hills told us how she had been evacuated as this fire got closer to her house. She could see the red glow from the fires just over the ridge top.  Her house was spared, but only because the wind shifted.

The wind was unbelievable strong and this para surfer was taking full advantage of it.

This blue bird was our consolation prize for missing out on the butterfly migration spot. They say at the peak, there are so many butterflies that you can hear them. We didn’t see one, but this beautiful bird was worth the trip all by himself.
